Spring/Pips
We're having our usual crazy spring here in south Mississippi. The other day was a beautiful 70 degrees. I was actually sitting outside in the lawn chair tangling and enjoying watching my husband do some much needed cleaning to his work bench. Things are starting to grow and I was marveling at how all the little Oxalis plants were working there way up through the rocks. I was remembering how they have something that we always called pips which they sprout from. Perfect name for a tangle pattern. So here is my tangled rendition of Pips.

It's A String Thing #80
This challenge combines two very different tangles. Kozy and Inaura.
These two tangles are so very different and when they are combined...such wonderful contrasts. I had never tried either one of them before. After practicing for a bit and a false start this is my finished work. It was a lot of fun.

Weekly Challenge #205
Chinese New Year. Thursday, February 19, 2015 marks the beginning of the lunar new year.
Legend has it that in ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one. He announced that the people born in each animal's year would have some of that animal's personality. Those born in sheep years are often artistic, charming, sensitive, and sweet. It is known as the most creative sign in the Chinese zodiac.

It's A String Thing #79
Lots of fun with this one...I haven't played with Buttercup or Pozer before, but they will definitely be used more now. They are both very relaxing and versatile. Inapod and Puf have been favorites of mine since I started tangling.

A Tiny Treasure of a Book!!
I really am not my most eloquent first thing in the morning, but just had to pass on my latest "find". Sindy P, CZT has a self published book that is truly wonderful. It's called Real Life Strings. Not only is she a Certified Zentangle Instructor, but she is also a photographer. Sindy combined the two into this gem of a book. Each page is part of a photo that she took. Then you use your imagination and a Micron 01 and fill in the rest. I take my Zentangle supplies with me wherever I go and this little book fits nicely in my purse! Here is one of the first strings that I finished....It's Zentangle Inspired Art from a picture of a spider web. Enjoy...

Diva Challenge #204: "Valentangle"
I have not ever been a fan of heart shapes until this year. There are some really pretty heart tangle patterns! I've been playing with the heart shape more thanks to It's A String Thing Tuesday challenges and I am ready for more hearts. Thanks Laura for yet another chance to rock the heart! I have even designed two ZIA's with hearts for friends for future tattoos.

It's A String Thing #78
What a great challenge!! The string was perfect to accommodate the lovely patterns. Had a few false starts, but am pleased with the finished piece.
The Diva Challenge #203
This challenge is a UMT or Use My Tangle. This tangle was created by Eleanor Holt and is called Athitzi. Although I like the finished product, this pattern to me was frustrating. I am more comfortable with long flowing lines and embellishments. So this was truly a challenge. I wasn't sure whether I would even post my design, but here it is.
