It's A String Thing #82

Dutch Diamonds, Daggerly and DL Nebula!   What fun.  Of the three Daggerly is my favorite.  Enjoyed this challenge...a lot.  Thanks Adele.

Weekly Challenge 207

This challenge is a UMT - Use My Tangle, titled Unbatz by Sandy Hunter, CZT.  After a few practice pieces this is my finished challenge entry.  I struggled with this for awhile, but then settled down.  It turned out to be a lot of fun.  Croon, Crescent Moon and Verdigoh were added as well as a tangle that I couldn't find the name. So if anyone has a name for it please let me know.

Thanks Laura for another great challenge...hoping this is a better week for you.

SeZ

I joined the Facebook Group - Square One - Purely Zentangle.  They are dedicated to returning to basics to enjoy the Zentangle(copyright) experience.  My first effort was replaced by one that fit the parameters of their group.  Original tile size of 3.5" x 3.5", penciled corner dots and a string.  No color, black Micron only.  It was very liberating to work in that size.  No worries about what color to fill in, just the pleasure of tangling.  I enjoyed it very much and will continue to submit my "tiles".

Spring/Pips

We're having our usual crazy spring here in south Mississippi.  The other day was a beautiful 70 degrees.  I was actually sitting outside in the lawn chair tangling and enjoying watching my husband do some much needed cleaning to his work bench.  Things are starting to grow and I was marveling at how all the little Oxalis plants were working there way up through the rocks.  I was remembering how they have something that we always called pips which they sprout from.  Perfect name for a tangle pattern.  So here is my tangled rendition of Pips.

Now here is Pips in it's stepped out form.  I hope you will give it a try and enjoy it as much as I have.

It's A String Thing #80

This challenge combines two very different tangles.  Kozy and Inaura.

These two tangles are so very different and when they are combined...such wonderful contrasts.  I had never tried either one of them before.  After practicing for a bit and a false start this is my finished work.  It was a lot of fun.

Weekly Challenge #205

Chinese New Year.  Thursday, February 19, 2015 marks the beginning of the lunar new year.

Legend has it that in ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one. He announced that the people born in each animal's year would have some of that animal's personality. Those born in sheep years are often artistic, charming, sensitive, and sweet. It is known as the most creative sign in the Chinese zodiac.
